This page is the local reference: what a kitchen or bath remodel actually costs in Castle Rock, how long the Town permit review really takes, and what we keep finding inside specific neighborhoods. If you want the service overview instead, start with kitchen remodeling or bathroom remodeling. We have run kitchen and bath design projects out of our downtown office at 115 Wilcox Street since 2001, so most of what follows comes from job sites, not a brochure. We build for the homes that are actually here, from 1990s Founders Village ranches to newer Crystal Valley builds.
A kitchen remodel is rarely about cabinets alone. The decisions that drive the budget are layout, structural changes, and how far the plumbing and electrical have to travel. We map that full sequence during design, before a single cabinet is ordered, because moving a gas line or a load-bearing wall after demo is where projects stall and budgets break. Most of our kitchen remodels follow the same path: layout first, then cabinetry, then countertops in quartz, granite, or butcher block, with islands and pantries sized around how a family actually cooks.
The common failure point in older Castle Rock homes is the closed-off galley kitchen. Opening the wall between the kitchen and living area returns the most usable space, but it often hides a load path or an HVAC trunk that has to be confirmed during design, not discovered during demo. Our guide to Castle Rock kitchen layouts walks through the configurations that work in these floor plans.
Field Note: In Founders Village and The Meadows, we routinely find soffits built to hide ductwork that owners assume are decorative. Confirm what is inside before you promise yourself a flush, open ceiling.
A primary suite and a guest bath are different problems. Our bathroom remodeling work splits mostly between tub-to-shower conversions, full primary-suite rebuilds, and dated guest baths. The detail homeowners underestimate is waterproofing. Castle Rock’s hard water and seasonal humidity swings punish cheap membranes and thin grout, so we run sheet or liquid waterproofing behind tile and slope every shower pan to spec. Vanity height, ventilation, and lighting get set during design, not after the tile is picked.
Pricing moves with scope, but homeowners deserve real ranges instead of silence. Permit review through the Town of Castle Rock adds one to three weeks before demo on structural work, which we fold in up front. Typical ranges for local projects look like this:
| Project | Typical Castle Rock Range | Build Time |
|---|---|---|
| Mid-Range Kitchen Remodel | $35,000 to $65,000 | 5 to 8 Weeks |
| Full Custom Kitchen | $70,000 and Up | 8 to 12 Weeks |
| Guest Bath Refresh | $18,000 to $30,000 | 3 to 5 Weeks |
| Primary Suite or Tub-to-Shower | $30,000 to $55,000 | 4 to 7 Weeks |

Where your house sits decides who reviews the plans. Inside town limits, structural work, electrical, and plumbing route through the Town of Castle Rock Building Division, and review typically runs one to three weeks before demo can start. Properties just outside the town boundary permit through Douglas County instead, and a handful of subdivisions add an HOA architectural review on top of either one. We confirm which applies before design finishes, pull the permits ourselves, and book inspections so nothing waits on a homeowner phone call. Cosmetic work such as cabinets, counters, and tile usually needs no permit; anything that moves a wall, a gas line, or a drain does.
We work in four stages: vision and consultation, design and planning, permit and prep, then build. The design phase carries a paid Professional Services Agreement, because a real plan with finished selections and a fixed estimate takes genuine work. You can see the full sequence on our remodeling process page. Through the build, you track your schedule, invoices, change orders, and daily progress photos in a private client portal, which past clients say they missed with other contractors.
“The projects that stay on budget are the ones where layout and structural questions get answered during design, before demo starts.”
That single discipline, more than any material choice, is what separates a six-week kitchen from a six-month one.
We take projects across The Meadows, Founders Village, Plum Creek, Crystal Valley, Castle Pines, and the wider Douglas County area. Our office sits on Wilcox Street downtown, so our crews are minutes from the job, not driving in from Denver.
Most land between $35,000 and $70,000, depending on layout changes and cabinetry. Structural work and high-end stone push it higher.
